Most people who get Dengue won’t have symptomps but for those that do, the most common symptomps are high fever, headache, body ache, nausea and rash. Most will also get better in 1– 2 weeks.But other develop severe dengue snd need care in hospital. In severe cases dengue may be fatal.

Bangladesh is now at risk in dengue and severe fengue. Each and every day nearly 1500 dengue cases are admittrd in hospital and death due to dengue also crossed all prevoius records. There is no specific treatment for dengue and severe dengue. Only early detection and access to proper medical care greatly lower fatality rate of severe dengue.
Symptoms usually 4–10 days after infection and lasts for 2–7 days. Symptomps may include high fever,severe headache, pain behind eyes, muscle and joint pain,nausea vomitimg, rash. Individuals who are infected for the second time are at greater risk to develop severe jaundice which is often after the temperature comes to normal.The symptomps of severe dengue may include severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, rapid breathing, bleeding gums or nose, fatique, restlessness, blood in vomitus or stool, increased thirst, cold and pale skin. Immediate hospitalization is needed in these cases.

Most of the dengue cases can be treated in home with rest and medication advised by doctors. But in cases with severe dengue immediate hospitalization is needed.

The mosquito that causes dengue are active during day time. Lower the risk of dengue by protecting ourselves by:–

Clothes that protects body as much as possible.
By using mosquito net.
Window screens.
Mosquito repellents.

Developments of dengue vector prevention and control strategies by adopting global vector cotrol. Community’s risk to dengue also depends upon populaion’s knowledge, Attitudes amd practice towards dengue as well as the implementation of routine sustainable vrctor control activities in the community.
